You cannot expect your Church Fan Page to grow and increase its traffic without your
commitment to nurture it.  Updating your posts regularly is one of the essential keys to gain as
well as retain followers on your Fan Page.

Incidentally, based on the Social Media studies I’ve read, the TIMING for posting updates to
Facebook Fan Pages makes a difference on how many people will see the post. There are
certain “peak hours” in Social Media traffic when people check their facebook. First thing in the
morning between 7am and 9am, then lunch and then the evening. With that in mind, it’s obvious
that it is during these times that you should schedule your posts.

The biggest problem to posting during these times is that normally we as ministers are not
setting buy a computer at these times. Thats our breakfast time with family, lunch time with a
church member and we are usually on our way home during the evening time! We get busy and
having a calendar or reminder will not be enough to keep you on top of every situation.

This is why we have tried a number of applications or tools to help us plan our updates as well
as post these updates at scheduled time. So far, Sendible is what we are using, because of its
simplicity and ease of use. And for that we’d like to give you a walk-through on how to manage
and schedule your Facebook updates using Sendible.

Sendible is a paid app, but they offer a 30-day free trial so you can test before you sign-up to a
plan if its system works for you. The first thing that you have to do is go to www.sendible.com
and click on that orange button to avail of the risk-free trial. 

You’ll be prompted to fill-up some
forms including your preferred log-in details. 

After you’re done, a confirmation will be sent to your
e-mail where you need to click on a link to activate your Sendible account. Once you’ve
completed that, you’re good to go.

What we liked best about Sendible is its clean User Interface. Using the application can be a
little intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it you’ll realize that it is not as complicated
as you thought it was.

You need to log-in to Sendible to begin with.

1.  On your first session, you’ll be asked if you’d like to set-up your services or watch  a quick
video or close.

2. Choose set-up your services and you’ll be taken to the Add/Edit Services Tab. Since you are
going to use this tool primarily for updating your Church’s Facebook Fan Page, Scroll down the
list and click “Add” on Facebook Fan Page.

3. Sendible will ask permission to connect with your Facebook account, push connect with
Facebook to allow.

4. You’ll be prompted to log-in to your Facebook Fan Page account, do it, fill-up the form and
then click the save settings to complete this process.

5. Your Sendible dashboard should now include Facebook Fan Page status in one of the
services.

To schedule a post here’s what all you have to do:

1. First, select the service you’d like to use, for this task we will select Facebook Status. To start
with, type the Subject  of this post.

2.  Let’s say you will be including a video from youtube.com in this particular post. For that, you
need to go to YouTube and get the URL of the video we intend to feature. Then go to the
message field so you can write and edit your message.

3. Make sure you have copied the URL, go back to Sendible and click on the URL from the
menu. Paste the URL on the box, then click attach. Sendible can shorten your URL if you want.

4. Once you’re done, click Scheduling from the menu, set the exact date and time when you’d
like Sendible to post this update on your Facebook Fan Page.

5. Push send to complete.

6. Go to your Calendar to check on the date and time you have set for the post. Pre-planned
posts which are not yet due are colored orange while those which have been published already
are colored green. You can also save your unfinished posts as draft these will be colored blue in
the calendar.

  7. With Sendible you can also have yourself notified via email once your post is published.

IPHONE

Another great feature that we liked about Sendible is that it has an iPhone app where users can
also pre-plan and compose future posts even while they are on the go. The mobile version of
this app is much simpler with just 4 tabs to work on: Home, Compose, Messages and Reports.

Here’s how to use Sendible on iPhone:

1. Log-in to your account. Go to Compose tab then select the Service you’d be using just like in
the web version.

2. Once you’ve chosen the service, you can start writing your message. After which, you may
add Photos taken from your phone’s camera (Camera Roll), include a link (for video or photo or
website) or place tags.

3. Next is to set the schedule for posting this message. If you are done, click Send.

4. To check your posts, go to the Reports tab.

5. To edit previously planned posts, you can go to the Messages tab, you’ll notice that there are
three categories of messages: Pending, Draft and Sent.  From the three, select the message
you would like to edit and click send once you are done.
